Polybutylene Terephthalate (PBT)
Product Features
It has a low friction coefficient, high heat resistance, toughness, fatigue resistance, self-lubrication, and weather resistance. The water absorption rate is low, only 0.1%, and it maintains various physical properties, including electrical performance, even in humid environments. It has good electrical insulation, but high volume resistivity and dielectric loss. It is resistant to hot water, alkalis, acids, and oils, but is easily eroded by halogenated hydrocarbons and has poor hydrolysis resistance. It can crystallize quickly at low temperatures and has good moldability. The disadvantages are low notch impact strength and high molding shrinkage. By using glass fiber reinforcement or inorganic filler modification, its tensile strength and bending strength can be increased by more than double, and the heat distortion temperature is also significantly improved, allowing it to work long-term at 140°C.
Product Applications
Mainly used in the automotive, electronics, electrical appliances, industrial machinery, and polymer alloy blending industries. In the electronics and electrical appliances industry, it can be used to make deflection coils for televisions, cathode ray tubes, potentiometer brackets, audio output transformer frames, adapter frames, as well as switch connectors, electric fans, refrigerator motor end caps, and shaft sleeves.
