Polyamide 46 (PA46)
Product Features
Compared to PA6 and PA66, polyamide 46 has a higher symmetry in molecular chain structure, a higher density of amide groups, and better regularity in molecular chains. Polyamide 46 has excellent performance, with a high melting point, intermediate strength, high bending modulus, low creep resistance, high water absorption, and minimal dimensional changes in products. It also has excellent chemical resistance and dyeing properties, and is easy to process and mold. Polyamide 46 has a high degree of crystallinity and fast crystallization speed, resulting in a high density, short molding cycle, and good heat resistance, allowing it to be used long-term at 150°C while maintaining excellent mechanical properties. Its high storage modulus ensures minimal creep at high temperatures.
Product Applications
Compared to other thermoplastics, nylon 46 plastic raw materials have outstanding fatigue resistance, which gives the final product a higher safety factor. Sensors made from nylon 46 meet all these requirements, as they can maintain hardness at peak temperatures and have the ability to resist creep and relieve stress. In addition, nylon 46 plastic exhibits excellent fatigue resistance and chemical resistance to corrosive liquids at high temperatures. Nylon 46 has been widely used in the sealing of intercoolers, saving up to 30% in costs compared to traditional aluminum sealing methods. Compared to aluminum or other thermoplastics, using nylon 46 not only reduces weight by 20-30% but also offers the highest strength-to-weight ratio.
